We all are familiar with conversational bots, which can understand difficult voice commands and by following that command it can also complete tasks. Nowadays these conversational bots are rapidly becoming popular. Recently in this month the inventors of Siri revealed their creation VIv, which did two tasks very efficiently. These two tasks are, it ordered flowers and booked a hotel in just within a minute. Now there is another one in the competition of bots, Google Assistant which unveiled this week and that bot also have these capabilities.
Why Microsoft should be behind in this field while others are making money from it. That’s why now Microsoft decided to make their own bot and they are working very hard on it. This news is published by reports ZDNet but now the post is removed.
The name of the bot from Microsoft is The Bing Concierge Bot, which will be capable of responding to users over some platforms such as Messenger, SMS, WhatsAPP, Skype, and Telegram. An engineer from the team behind this project described the bot as follows –
“The agent does what a human assistant would do: it runs errands on behalf of the user, by automatically completing tasks for the user. The users talk to the agent in natural language, and the agent responds in natural language to collect all the information; once ready, it automatically performs the task for the user by connecting to service providers.
For example, the user might ask ‘make me a reservation at an Italian place tonight’, and the agent will respond with ‘for how many people?’; after several such back-and-forth turns it will confirm and book the restaurant that the user picked.”
Microsoft has already done the hard work that is necessary to create an assistant bot. Microsoft has announced its Bot Framework, which will help the developers to create and integrate intelligent bots into their software. It also unveiled that the bot will support on Skype with a latest app development kit.
